SIBO daily guide

A2 milk (regular)

High FODMAP (Avoid)High in lactose

Is a2 milk (regular) low FODMAP?

A2 milk (regular) is high FODMAP and best avoided during the elimination phase.

A2 refers to the milk protein, not the sugar, so regular A2 milk still carries a full dose of lactose and reads high by the glass. Only the lactose-free A2 version is low FODMAP; some people still find A2 gentler, but that is a separate question from FODMAPs.

FODMAP subgroups to watch

A2 milk (regular) contains lactose that can drive SIBO symptoms.
