Greek salad
High FODMAP (Avoid)Raw red onion flips it; rest is fine
Is greek salad low FODMAP?
Greek salad is high FODMAP and best avoided during the elimination phase.
Tomato, cucumber, olives, and feta are all fine at normal servings, so the raw red onion is the single thing that flips a typical Greek salad to red. A safer build drops the onion for scallion greens or chives and keeps feta to about 40g, dressed with olive oil, lemon, and oregano.
FODMAP subgroups to watch
Greek salad contains fructans that can drive SIBO symptoms.
