Cheesecake
Is cheesecake low FODMAP?
Cheesecake is high FODMAP and best avoided during the elimination phase.
Cream cheese is one of the higher-lactose soft cheeses, low only to about 40g, far less than a slice, and the base is wheat biscuit (fructans). A safer build uses lactose-free cream cheese over a gluten-free biscuit or nut crust.
FODMAP subgroups to watch
Cheesecake contains lactose, fructans that can drive SIBO symptoms.
Portion threshold
Cream cheese is low only to about 40g, so a real slice pushes lactose high. Single typical servings stay in the rated range; larger servings push past the threshold.
